Wed 1st - Thurs 2nd - Siem Reap Cambodia
So first night in Cambodia after settling into hostel, took a walk around the area to suss the place. Main town (Pub street) is buzzing. Stopped off for a meal there and took it all in. Children begging, motorcycles all over the place. This is families way of transport. 4 on a bike at once. Children being held by mothers. Seen one baby being held while her other arm round drivers waist. No helmets! Very scary. On way home to hostel Jack stood in a pile of cow pat lol. Which was lucky as We got talking to a guy who was British and owned a tour co with his cambodia partner. Gave us a push to book our first tour to temples which was amazing! We got picked up at 4.30am.
This was so we could watch sunrise over angkor wat temple. Visited 4 other temples and back for 12.30. Then picked up at 1.30pm and headed to floating village and flooded forest. Totally amazing. Some pics attached but such poverty. Again on way back on boat We watched sunset and got back to hostel at 8pm. Showered, few drinks then bed. Decided to have a chilling day and are sat round pool just now having a beer and catching some rays. Im still the same colour i was when I left scotland ha ha. We have 1 night left here to going into town later. Our plans have changed as we were planning going direct to South capital phnom Penh tomo and staying there for a few days but decided to go via a town called Battambang. We leave at 7.30 tomo morning and are traveling by boat down the river. Should take 5hrs or so. Just managed to get our hostel booked which is costing £5 each per night. It's called "here be dragons" and recommended in lonely planet.
Will post over next few days as I need to go and lie down?? In the sunshine!!!
