Tuesday 31st - Bangkok to Cambodia

Where to begin... so yesterday after a lie in we walked for hours to see Big Buddha and Grand Palace. Decided to start off on a tuk tuk with Tom our driver. Communication not so good as we got ripped off for a full 150 bhat. £3.75!!! He took us on a journey which took around 15 mins to Big Buddha. From there we planned to walk around the rest of sites. So leaving the Buddha we walked about 5 mins if that and spotted our hotel. Lol. He obviously took us a long road for a shortcut. Jack still ranting about it. Ha ha Couldn't get into the Grand Palace but seen it from walking the boundaries. Apparently the king who died last year was cremated on Sunday and it was a big thing with the locals. We missed that as we didn't arrive until night time. We found a lovely bar and had food and some beers. Yes I've been drinking beer. Headed back toward hotel about 9pm to plan our next stop as only wanted to spend a day in bangkok at this time. We may go back to bangkok town on way home but depends! So after finding out it was a 9 hour trip on a bus to cambodia we took the easy option and flew. Got up at 6am and headed to airport for flight at 10am this morning which took 1 hr and cost £58 each. Booked a 3 night stay in a backpackers which we have not long arrived at! A place called funky backpackers! You must Google this Music apparently plays 24 hrs and bar open 24/7!! Our dorm is right above pool area so not going to be able to sleep. Lol. Anyway it is seemingly hotter here than it's been in 8 months - 37°. Heat is intense so shorts are now on. Halloween party here tonight so should be good. Booked in for 3 nights so no stress to plan anything other than see the sites. Pub street is only a 5 min walk which is meant to be a good area at night. Everyone so friendly. Met a young couple last night. One from Germany and one from Sweden. She is 20 yrs old and on her own. Travelling Asia for 4 months until Feb. I'd freak if that was my daughter!! God i sound old and like my motber. Sorry mum lol.logging off now to enjoy my beer, take in atmosphere and Catch some rays. Catch you all over next day or so if I survive this place.

Sun 29 - Mon 30

Arrived last night in Bangkok after 2 excellent flights. 500 baht from airport to hotel which is really nice although no bar in it. Quick change and then headed to kosan road to find food and beers. 2 meals 2 cocktails and 2 beers cost 88bhat. Works out about £22. Headed to bed about 1.30am and slept straight through as both knackered from the travelling. Monday 29th...not long out bed. Slept 12 hrs lol. Having trouble with texts and emails so this may be my only way of contact. Sat having a coffee and deciding our next move. Want to visit the big Buddha and great palace today but very hot. 32° today!! Priced a bus for overnight travel to cambodia but 9 hrs journey. Unsure how we are getting there but have many options. A few places of Interest to see here so will have to decide. Just as I'd imagined bangkok. Busy busy busy.

One more sleep and a day tomorrow of frantic last minute packing. Thought this picture would sum it up. So currency check.. passports. Check... flight tickets check... Good news is my horse Cruz is back to normal so I can relax knowing he's in safe hands. Feeling excited and soo looking forward to getting on that flight 😎😎😎

4 sleeps to go! Getting very excited now. My clothes are ready but jacks not even started packing. Suppose he has plenty time. Probably saturday #lastminute.com. Anyway keep following this blog. I'll be updating hopefully most nights. Keeping tracks of days and nights, days and weeks over our 20 day trek/fun/history/sunshine/beaches/shacks etc... Roll on Saturday.. .
